In short, it is to build a pipeline that is isolated from the external air, create a vacuum inside the pipe, and run maglev trains and other vehicles within it. Due to the absence of air friction, the trains will operate at astonishing speeds, greatly reducing the time and space barriers between any two points on the Earth's surface. The pipeline is sealed, allowing it to operate underwater and in harsh climatic conditions without any impact.

Developed in ChinaVacuum tube magnetic levitationThe train can reach a speed of 4000 km/h, with energy consumption less than 1/10 of that of a passenger aircraft, and noise, exhaust pollution, and accident rates close to zero. This is the astonishing feature of vacuum tube magnetic levitation trains. As a new generation of magnetic levitation trains, vacuum tube magnetic levitation trains will bring Beijing and Washington into a two-hour transportation circle, and completing a global journey in a few hours has become a recent goal for scientists.

China has already taken the lead in this research. In 2007, the project was listed as a National Natural Science Foundation project, and a large number of related patents applied for by experts such as Professor Zhang Yaoping have been accepted. A transportation revolution is imminent. Academician He Zuoxiu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences believes that in the context of high tension in oil energy, conducting research on ultra-high-speed magnetic levitation train technology is of special significance. Shen Zhiyun proposed that China should set the goal of developing ultra-high-speed ground transportation at 600 to 1000 kilometers per hour, implemented in four stages, with operation achieved between 2020 and 2030.

In short, it involves building a pipeline that is isolated from external air, creating a vacuum inside the pipe, and running magnetic levitation trains and other transportation tools within it. Due to the absence of air friction, the trains will operate at astonishing speeds, greatly shortening the time and space barriers between any two points on the Earth's surface. The pipeline, being sealed, can operate underwater and in harsh climatic areas without being affected.

Shen Zhiyun, who holds the honor of being an academician of both academies, pointed out at the meeting that any ground transportation tool, whether levitating or not, should not exceed a commercial operating speed of 400 kilometers per hour; otherwise, energy consumption will be high, noise will exceed standards, and it will be difficult to be accepted by the market. This is determined by the dense atmosphere. However, ultra-high speed is the demand for ground high-speed transportation in the 21st century, and the only way to achieve ultra-high speed in vacuum (or low-pressure) tube ground transportation is through vacuum tubes, which will be an unavoidable choice.
